There is a new wave of famine blowing on the United States of America as the family farm is being systematically wiped out of existence and big agribusiness and the federal government both taken over and snuff out the smaller farms.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture, report reveals the number of farms in the United States to have fallen from about 6.8 million in 1935 to only about 2 million today. This however does not refer to quantity, as U.S. farms are producing more than ever but an indication of the section domination by the bigger players.
Small farmers do not possess the capacity to compete anymore. 1900, close to 39 percent of the U.S. population worked on farms. Today, only about 2 percent of all Americans now live on farms.
The question can the country survive a famine is an open quest
