obama health bill controversy chip: What is an RFID and VERICHIP

What are RFID's?
RFID (Radio Frequency Identification acronym) refers to a mode of storing and remotely retrieving data using
devices called tags, cards, transponders or RFID tags. The basic job of RFID is to transmit the identity
of the wearer(e.g the unique serial number) RFID's are Auto, smaller they can be stick like sticker unto animals or humans, they contain antennas to enable them to receive and respond to requests by radio from
an RFID transceiver. Passive tags require no power, while active tags need power to function.
They use radio frequency.

What is VERICHIP?
Verichip on the other hand is the first human implant of RFID's which was approved by Food & Drug
Administration in the United States of America in 2004. This is a nano-chip(a very small thing) that contains
full information about the person who was inserted with it. They are pre-recorded, and can be remotely
recovered by a system of radio frequency identification RFID. This device(the chip) is marketed by VeriChip
Corporation, a subsidiary of Applied Digital Solutions.

The Chip is the size of a grain of rice, this device can be physically implanted above the triceps area of the
right arm. Once the implant is in place the chip can be scanned using the right frequency, the VeriChip responds to with an assigned unique 16-digit number that can be linked with pre-stored information about the host, updated in a stored database for identity specification, access to medical records and other uses.

The insertion is in an hospital under a local anesthesia
and once inserted is invisible to human eye. It's implementation and control by third party has generated heated controversy and serious debate because it was parallel to the exact description in the Bible to monitoring any moving things no matter the location.

Companies involved and recent activities
In 2007 VeriChip the company directly responsible in creating this miniaturised chip created Xmark, it represented it's corporate identity for healthcare products.

Xmark incorporates the Halo System device for child protection
RoamAlert, locate walking style of walking geographically locate people
